Welcome to the Colorado Forum |
In 1978, a group of Colorado chief executive officers and leading professionals convened the first meeting of the Colorado Forum. The goal of this founding group was to create an informed, objective voice on critical public policy issues. Today, the Forum has 65 members representing disparate regions of the state and speaking from various points on the political spectrum. Using a common base of accurate and current information, the Colorado Forum seeks to promote consensus in the community on enlightened public policy.
Membership in the Colorado Forum is purposely limited to encourage open discussion and direct participation by the members.

Consortia from Western and Southern Colorado together with representation from Northern Colorado and the metro area enhance the diversity in the Forum and provide a breadth of interests and expertise. The Forum has no terms for its members; nor does it have elected officers. It is loose association of individuals working, sometimes for many years, to achieve good public policy results for Colorado. Some members of the Colorado Forum have been involved with the organization since its inception and many of its members have been engaged in the Forum's work for more than thirty years. The Forum was launched by Herrick Roth and initially staffed by members of his firm, Roth Associates. Regular breakfasts were held to dicuss "horizon issues" at the Schleier Mansion, 17th and Grant, Denver. Members defined "horizon issues" as public concerns "just over the horizon," as opposed to current crises. They agreed that this would differentiate the Forum from other public policy groups and organizations. Herrick Roth was a remarkable individual. He was a WWII Veteran, a teacher, a talk show host, a Labor leader, a candidate for the U.S. Senate, a state legislator and the Founder of the Colorado Forum. We remember him with great respect and admiration. |
