Dave Wollard

David Wollard was born in Pampa, Texas on May 24, 1937. His parents moved to Las Vegas, New Mexico six months later, where he was raised through high school.
In 1955, Dave was awarded a Naval R.O.T.C. scholarship and attended Harvard College for the next four years. He graduated and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps on the same day in June 1959.
Three relatively uneventful years (no wars) followed. Dave was honored to receive the Navy Marine Corp Medal for actions taken during a helicopter crash. He entered the commercial banking business in Tacoma, Washington. For most of the next 40 or so years, except for 3 years in Washington, DC in the Nixon Administration, Dave worked in banking in Washington State, Arizona, Florida and Colorado, retiring as President of Colorado for Bank One in 1998. Dave served as a Director of Dominion Resources in Richmond, Virginia and Vectra Bank Denver.
Dave’s civic activities include, past chair of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Denver Corporation, Downtown Denver, Inc., the Downtown Denver Partnership, St. Joseph Hospital, Exempla Healthcare (Founding Chair Emeritus), Rocky Mountain PBS, and the Denver Athletic Club.
Dave is married to Carolyn Schaefer Wollard and has a step-son and step-daughter with her, as well as two sons and a daughter from a former marriage.
