Dr. Ben Guillon, DVM, CFA founded Conservation Investment Management (CIM) in 2014 with the conviction that business is the best engine for meaningful nature conservation. CIM creates strategic ventures that build business value and biodiversity in tandem. Our company designs and manages innovative nature-based solutions to a range of complex problems—from protecting communities from wildfire to restoring degraded wildlife habitat.

With a 20-year track record of leadership at the intersection of business and biodiversity, Ben brings a unique experience spanning on-the-ground conservation projects, private equity, and company leadership and operations. Ben has dedicated his career to developing innovative business models that attract private capital to address environmental challenges, creating a win-win for the investors, companies, and nature. His work includes partnerships with corporations, public agencies, and high-net-worth families to develop conservation ventures across the U.S., focusing on biodiversity offsets, water markets, carbon sequestration, and tailor-made business models to meet a particular ecosystem's needs. He also advises corporations looking to adapt their business models to benefit the ecosystems in which they work and to navigate environmental regulations.
