Jeffrey S. Hurd is a director and shareholder at the law firm of Ireland Stapleton Pryor & Pascoe, PC, and leads the firm’s Grand Junction office. In his law practice, Jeff works with businesses on the Western Slope and throughout Colorado in navigating complex transactions and regulatory matters. A large portion of his practice involves serving electric cooperatives, which are a vital part of rural communities across Colorado.
A Colorado native, Jeff grew up in Grand Junction and graduated from Grand Junction High School. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and law degrees from the University of Denver and Columbia Law School. Jeff began his legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable Timothy M. Tymkovich of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Jeff then practiced law at Sullivan & Cromwell, LLP, in New York City for several years before returning home to Western Colorado in 2014.
Jeff is active in his community and has served as Chairman of the Board of the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce. He is also a Trustee on the Legal Aid Foundation of Colorado, a director on the Grand Junction Regional Air Service Alliance, and has served as a member of both the United State Magistrate Judge Merit Selection Panel for the U.S. District Court of Colorado and the 21st Judicial District Judicial Performance Commission.
Jeff and his wife, Barbora, enjoy raising their five young children in beautiful Western Colorado.
