Jeff is the President and Co-CEO of Timberline Bank, where Jeff leads a Team that owns and operates an industry leading Community Bank in Grand Junction, Montrose, and Aspen Colorado. Jeff and 4 other founders started Timberline in 2004. Since that time, Jeff and his team have grown the business to 100 employees and over $800 Million in assets. Jeff and Timberline are proud to offer a full line of banking products and services with local ownership and decision making. Timberline is a proud two-time award winner of SBA’s Community Lender of the Year, Independent Bankers of America’s Best Community Bank to Work For Award, a recipient of the Colorado Companies to Watch Award, and Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce and Fruita Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Award.
Born in Osage, IA in 1970, Jeff (the youngest of 6) was raised working alongside his family on their farm in North Central Iowa. Upon graduating from Iowa State University in 1993, Jeff began his banking career with Norwest Agricultural Credit in Sioux Falls, SD. In 1997 Jeff transferred with Norwest Bank to Grand Junction, CO. Jeff worked as a business banker with Norwest Bank which became Wells Fargo in 2000. In 2000, Jeff left Wells Fargo and he and partners began building a business and real estate enterprise. Holdings included car washes, fast food franchises, residential building development and construction, and residential and commercial holdings. In 2004 Jeff and the same partners Founded Timberline Bank.
Jeff serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of St. Mary’s Hospital as well as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Colorado Mesa University Foundation. When not at Timberline or serving the local community, Jeff can be found with his family and friends enjoying the great outdoors of Western Colorado. Jeff is an avid skier, mountain biker, hiker, and Jeep enthusiast. He is a terrible golfer but manages to enjoy this activity as well when surrounded by the proper company.
Jeff and Londa Taets have been married since 1997. Londa worked in public education for 28 years and is retired. They raised 3 children. Gabe Taets is the oldest and is a business banker at Timberline Bank. Gabe and his wife Gianna live and work in Grand Junction, CO. Anna Taets is the middle child is in her second year of the Physician Assistant program at Colorado Mesa University. Anna is a graduate of Colorado State University and lives in Grand Junction, CO. Olivia Taets the youngest is a Senior at Colorado Mesa University studying Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resource Management. Olivia is employed by Evergreen Administrative Services as a HR Manager and lives in Grand Junction, CO.
