Peter Calamari is a Managing Director of Platte River Equity having joined in 2008 shortly after the firm’s inception. Platte River is a Denver-based private equity firm that partners with established industrial businesses to drive transformational growth through strategic investments. In addition to his role in helping manage the firm, Peter leads investments across distribution, critical services and light manufacturing companies. Previously, Peter was a Principal at Vestar Capital Partners and an analyst with the Mergers & Acquisitions group at Merrill Lynch.

Over the past 20 years, Peter has served on numerous Colorado-based non-profit and civic boards including the Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation Board, the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless, the Colorado I Have a Dream Foundation, the CLIMBER (Colorado Loans to Increase Mainstreet Business Economic Resiliency) Loan Fund and the Colorado Public School Permanent Fund Investment Board.

Peter holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.A. in Economics from Yale University. Peter grew up in New York, but Colorado has been home for 25 years. He currently lives in Denver with his wife Cristen and has three teenage children.
