Rodd currently serves as President of the West Region for JE Dunn Construction Company with average annual revenues within the region exceeding $600 million. Rodd oversees the execution of vision and strategy to ensure organizational growth and opportunities. He is responsible for executive management and oversight of all operations in the West Region, which includes offices in Denver, Colorado Springs, Portland and Phoenix.
Prior to his role as President, Rodd lead JE Dunn’s Advanced Manufacturing group and was responsible for operational delivery of projects focused in advanced technologies including semiconductor and clean manufacturing. Responsibilities included all aspects of project delivery including pursuit, preconstruction and construction. Projects included factory retrofit and new facility construction ranging in value from $25M to over $200M. In addition, he recently served as Project Executive and Design-Build Manager for the $135M Energy Systems Integration Facility (ESIF) at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden, CO.
Rodd has also served as SVP and head of JE Dunn’s national Integrated Project Services group which includes Safety, Quality, VDC/BIM, Engineering Services, Scheduling, Lean Construction, and Integrated Practice. Since joining JE Dunn in 2006, he has championed the implementation of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) and collaborative technology within JE Dunn and remains focused on leveraging the power of technology and integrated process to eliminate waste and rework and improve the design and construction process. Prior to joining JE Dunn, he spent 12 years as a consulting structural engineer where he managed the design and construction of a wide array of commercial building projects.
Rodd currently serves on the University of Colorado, Department of Civil & Architectural Engineering Construction Science Advisory Board, the Metro Denver EDC Executive Committee, and is a member of the leadership team of the National AGC BIM Forum. Rodd also serves as a mentor for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Gordon Engineering Leadership (GEL) Program and was recognized in 2009 as one of Colorado Construction Magazine’s Top 20 Under 40. Rodd received his B.S. in Architectural Engineering and M.S. in Civil Engineering (Structures) from the University of Wyoming. He is a registered structural engineer in Colorado and Wyoming and is a LEED Accredited Professional. He is a past President of the Structural Engineers Association of Colorado (SEAC) and is a frequent speaker on the subjects of VDC, technology, and process transformation through integrated practice.
